FIRST AID COURSE REBATE OPPORTUNITIES NOW AVAILABLE!
In great news for those interested in obtaining their First Aid certificate, Surf Life Saving Queensland has recently been named as a provider of First Aid through MBF.

This means that those with private health insurance through MBF have the opportunity to claim a rebate back if they complete a First Aid course through ALAQ. Other companies that also provide this rebate include HBA, Mutual Community, NRMA, SGIO and SGIC.

As this rebate is only available for certain levels of insurance, and rebate amounts do vary on that basis, we encourage you to contact your insurance company first to confirm if your level of insurance enables you to make the most of this opportunity.

WHO IS ALAQ?
The Australian Lifesaving Academy Queensland (ALAQ) is the training division of Surf Life Saving Queensland, and is responsible for the delivery of aquatic rescue and emergency care training in the community. ALAQ’s purpose is to bring more than a century of lifesaving experience from the beach to the home and workplace, because we don’t believe the skills needed to save a life should be restricted to the sand.

We are a fully accredited Registered Training Organisation and specialise in courses such as First Aid, CPR, Defibrillation, Advanced Resuscitation and Low Voltage Rescue, as well as offering courses as varied as a Certificate IV Training & Assessment, Public Safety and Beach Administration. What’s more, every course we run helps to put volunteer surf lifesavers on Queensland beaches and pay for vital lifesaving equipment.

The Australian lifesaving movement is respected all over the world for its skill, dedication and commitment to excellence. Find out how you can benefit from our experience by checking out our courses

- The Queensland Vocational Education, Training and Employment Act 2000
- The Queensland Vocational Education, Training and Employment Regulation 2000 and
- Any other relevant Commonwealth, or State Legislation or regulatory requirements for the operation of a Registered Training Organisation.
