HLTCPR201A - Perform CPR
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) delivers the essential knowledge, skills and competencies to maintain breathing and circulation in any emergency situation on adults, children and infants.
ALAQ highly recommends combining this course with its Asthma and Anaphylaxis Management Course.
As outlined by the Australian Resuscitation Council, ALAQ recommends renewing your CPR every 12 months.

3 - 4 hours (Full Course)
2 hours (Update – every 12 months)
PRE-REQUISITES
The minimum age requirement for CPR is 10 years.

ELEMENTS OF COMPETENCY
On successfully completing the training and assessment, participants will obtain a nationally accredited Statement of Attainment in the following unit of competence:

COURSE CONTENT
• Casualty assessment
• The cardiovascular and respiratory system
• Emergency action principles – DRABCD
• Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation rates and techniques – infant, child and adult
• Procedure for placing a patient in the recovery position.
ASSESSMENT
Participants will demonstrate their level of knowledge, skills and understanding through practical and theoretical activities.
